“TRADITIONAL DANCE”

Bali dancer               Jaipong dancer

As an Indonesian people who live in Indonesia, I realized that our culture is getting disappeared. Especially traditional dance, for several reasons of entertainment that I think should be developed within Indonesia is traditional dance to maintain our culture from foreign. First of all, nowadays modern dance is more happening in Indonesia. Teenagers loved it because it’s easy to learn although the choreography is little more difficult and too much risk, the custom and attributes not too complicated than traditional dance. For example, cheerleader, break dance, etc, and they can perform accidentally. Moreover there are so many competitions for modern dance just than traditional dance. For second reason to prevent sexy dancer from dominating in Indonesia and what is more to keep the characteristic traditional dance of Indonesian in global. Finally, do not deny if traditional dance is very beautiful. The custom and the dancer are very representative for territory culture, although the back sound is little bit boring, but are not determine traditional dance to participate in International contests to introduce the culture of Indonesia. For these reason, I’m sure that traditional dance from Indonesia could compete the other country.
